Field Trips to the Islamic Da`wah Center


1. Field Trip Qualifications

  • To be qualified as a school group, you must belong to an educational institution Grades (6-12) and have 25 students or more in your group.
  • Schools discount applies to schools that are in session. This discount doesn't apply to school students out of the regular school period.
  • Groups must provide a letter on a school letter head signed by the principal authorizing the field trip.
  • Advance reservation must be made at least 1 week prior to the day of the trip by filling out a field trip reservation form and fax it to 713-223-1477.

2. Reservations

  • There is a 1 hour and 30 minutes limit on field trips visiting the center.
  • Field Trips are available on weekdays only from 10-5.  
  • There is a 90 student limit for field trip reservations. This number does not include chaperones.
  • If you have more than 90 students, you must schedule a second reservation. One group may be off-site at a nearby restaurant or another cultural institution while the other is at the center. The two may then switch.
  • Once you have submitted your form, you will receive confirmation materials, via email, within five business days. Note that your reservation is not confirmed until you receive these materials.

3. The Day of the Trip Guidlines

  • You must bring your confirmation letter with you. 
  • One chaperone is required for every 10 students (not applicable to college field trips).
  • Photography is not permitted in exhibition areas.  
  • Food, Drinks, backpacks, headphones, lunches, gum, or candy are not allowed inside the center. 
  • All field trips are guided tours. Field trips begin with a brief orientation. 
  • Chaperones (Teachers, Parents, Bus Drivers) are required to monitor their students at all times and ensure a positive behavior of the group while touring the center. 
  • Undisciplined groups will be asked to leave the premises immediately and refunds will not be offered.
  • Lunches may be eaten in the basement with prior authorization.

4. Payments

  • Fees only apply when visiting special exhibitions gallery at the mezzanine level.
  • You can pay upon arrival of the school group to the center. 
  • Discount may be given to qualified groups.
  • School filed trips rate will be discussed with the contact person on the application provided. Chaperons may not qualify for the student rate and may have to pay the regular rate for an adult.
  • Parents may accompany the group however, they have to pay regular rate for an adult visitor.   

5. Cancellations & Refunds

  • To cancel your field trip, please fax a cancelation notice on your school fax cover sheet to 713-223-1477.
  • Once payment is made there will be no refunds offered.
  • We reserve the right to alter program dates , times and prices without prior notice.

6. Parking

  • Vans can park in the designated area for IDC visitors.
  • Buses can drop off students by the Travis st. Entrance.

7. Education

  • Teacher's learning guide is available upon request for special exhibitions only.
